Makeup of the Day & Outfit | Casual

♥ Makeup of the Day & Outfit

Hi everyone! Today I have decided to post a more casual look of the day. My makeup is a lot softer than in yesterday's post and can be worn as an everyday makeup look. I have listed the products I used to create this look below.

Makeup Products Used:
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
Collection 2000 Long Lasting Perfection Concealer
Rimmel Pink Rose Blush
Maybelline Ambre Rose Lipstick
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette
Rimmel Liquid Eyeliner
MAC Eyelashes

For my outfit today, I have gone for a very simple and casual look. It is very hard dressing for the weather at the moment as it is not really cold but it's not actually warm either. I have decided to go for a slouchy cardigan, a vest top, blue jeans and a pair of heeled sandals to match my cardigan. The cardigan and jeans were bought from Fashion Union, the sandals were bought from New Look and the vest top was recently purchased from ASOS. I love wearing necklaces and because I have gone for a simple look, I have decided to go for a small subtle necklace which are little angel wings bought from ASOS.

I absolutely love slouchy cardigans, they are just so comfortable and you can throw them on over pretty much any simple outfit to add a little something. This is definitely a look I will be wearing a lot more during the transition to summer. I hope you all enjoyed this fashion post.

OOTN & Makeup | All White Everything

♥ White Outfit of the Night

Hi everyone! I recently made two orders online from Missguided and Asos: a white skirt, a white halterneck top, a pair of nude heels, a clutch bag and a necklace. I am a little obsessed with crop tops and high wasted skirts at the moment. I couldn't resist going on a mini shopping spree and buying some clothes! I put together below an outfit which I will be wearing tomorrow for a night out. I have also listed below the makeup products I used to create this look.

The top worn below is the Missguided 'Edeva Halterneck Crop Top in White' £7.00:
The skirt is the Missguided 'Akseline White Stripe Mesh Midi Skirt' £14.99:
The heels are the Missguided 'Caitlin Cut Out Court Shoes in Nude' £24.99:

Makeup Products Used:
MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC40
MAC Moisturecover Concealer NW25
MAC Bronzing Powder
MAC Pro Longwear Blush Whole Lotta Love
Rimmel Liquid Eyeliner
MAC Eyelashes
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette
ELF Mineral Lipstick Rich Raspberry

♥ Celebrity Inspired Looks

This look was very inspired by the recent trend of celebs pairing white crop tops with high wasted white skirts. I think this look is very classy and can be worn for any evening occasion. Out of the looks below, my favourite is definitely Kylie Jenner's outfit. I love the combination of the chunky necklace and gold bracelet.

I hope you enjoyed this fashion post :)

OOTN | Celeb Boutique Dress

♥ Outfit of the Night ♥

Hi everyone! I thought I would do an 'outfit of the night' as I have not yet posted anything fashion related on my blog. I am absolutely in love with this dress, it fits so well and the material is so nice. It's a gorgeous coral colour and looks great with a pair of nude heels for an evening look. This dress is from Celeb Boutique and is the 'Naima Coral Woven Back Bandage Dress'.

It can always be a bit tricky knowing what bra to wear under plunging necklines. I purchased the 'U-Plunge bra' from ASOS for £19.75. It has convertible straps, it has an invisible back and it also lifts as well.

The dress is not cheap, it is £120.00. However, I have worn this dress loads of times and each time I wear it, it still looks brand new. I think it is definitely worth investing in a dress like this for a special evening occasion. I paired this dress with a coral clutch and some nude shoes with a hint of coral in them. Unfortunately, these shoes are no longer on the ASOS website so I am unable to provide the link. However, there are very similar shoes on the website at the moment.

I hope you have enjoyed my first fashion related post.

My Acne Treatment | Skin Care Routine

♥ My Acne Treatment ♥

Hi everyone! Last month, I had the worst breakout of spots I have had in a very long time and I thought I would share with you all the products I used to help treat my skin. When I was a teenager, I used to suffer with mild acne. I would often get a rash of little spots appear on my forehead and cheeks and no matter what products I used, nothing seemed to help prevent them. As I have gotten older, my skin has gradually improved and I will now only get one or two spots here and there.

I have always found that my skin will get slightly worse in times where I am pretty stressed out. In a few weeks, I will be moving over to Spain to live and work. Although the move is extremely exciting, I have been stressed to the max with getting everything organised and sorted ready for the big move. The stress definitely has had an enormous impact on my skin. Although my old skin care routine wasn't making it worse,  it definitely was not helping to reduce or prevent the spots. I knew I had to look for an alternative.. Quinoderm.

Quinoderm Products: http://www.quinoderm.co.uk/range/3/quinoderm-antibacterial-facewash

Last month, I decided to buy the 'Antibacterial Face Wash' as well as the 'Extra Strength Cream (10)'. I am using the following steps as my current skin care routine to reduce my skin issue and also to help prevent any skin issues arising. Every morning, the first thing I do is wipe my face with the Nivea Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes for dry and sensitive skin. They are alcohol free and smell really nice too.

Once my face is feeling fresh after using a wipe, I pour a small amount of the Quinoderm face wash onto the palm of my hand and then gently apply it onto my face using both hands. I then like to leave the face wash on my skin for a few minutes whilst I brush my teeth. I then rinse it all off with warm water and pat my face dry with a clean towel. Once my face is dry, I then take a small amount of the Quinoderm cream to my finger and apply a thin layer over the areas where I have a skin issue. The cream is white and has quite a thick consistency, therefore only a thin layer needs to be applied. I find that this then absorbs into the skin within 5 minutes of applying.

Whilst the cream is absorbing into the skin, I eat breakfast and start to get ready. The first thing I do is change into my outfit for the day and begin doing my hair. Once I have done my hair, I am now ready to apply my makeup. I make sure that I always moisturise my skin as Quinoderm can make it very dry. Therefore, as a final step to my skin care routine, I apply the Nivea Oil Free Moisturising Day Cream before applying my makeup.

I find that this is a fantastic routine that really works for the treatment of acne, whether it is mild or severe. I find that whenever I do have a breakout, just using this routine for a few days can make an enormous difference to my skin and how it looks. During the times of treating my skin issue, I try to use a minimal amount of products on my face - my main priority is getting rid of all of the spots! I hope you have found this useful. It is definitely a routine worth trying if you have common breakouts.

12 Personal Questions

♥ 12 Personal Questions ♥
Hi everyone! Today I thought I would do the 12 Personal Questions Tag so that you guys can get to know me a little bit better. I really enjoy watching/reading these types of tags, so I thought I would jump on board and answer some questions. I hope you enjoy...

1. What do you order at Starbucks?
I don't really go to Starbucks that often. If I am craving a coffee while I'm out I will tend to go to Costa. On a really nice day, I will sometimes grab a caramel frappuccino (with cream!)from Starbucks, it just tastes so yummy.

2. One thing in your closet you cannot live without?
At the moment, it's my River Island beige coat. Although I do have quite a few coats, I always tend to wear the same one because I find it goes with every outfit I wear, it looks great and it also keeps me warm as the weather hasn't been to nice recently.

3. What's one thing people probably don't know about you?
Probably that I'm actually quite smart (although I don't always show it at times!) I went to a Grammar school, so I had to pass a sort of IQ test to get in, I also have a Law Degree and a Masters :)

4. One thing you want to do before you die?
Travel. I would love to go travelling and go to lots of different countries and experience all the different types of cultures.

5. What's one food you cannot live without?
It would have to be chicken. I love fried chicken, grilled chicken, roast chicken.. just every kind of chicken! It goes with everything as well and it just tastes so nice. I definitely couldn't live without it.

6. What quote/phrase do you live by?
Without sounding cheesy, it would have to be YOLO (you only live once). This quote is also quite similar to 'Life is too short' which I also agree with.

7. What's your most listened to song on itunes?
At the moment, it would have to be Duke Dumont - I got you. I know that I will get really bored and hate this song eventually because I keep playing it but I just love it because it just has that summer sound to it.

8. What kind of style would you define yourself as having?
I think I have a very comfy and casual style. I like to make sure that I am comfortable in whatever I am wearing and if it is really cold outside, I will definitely dress like an eskimo and not care what other people think!

9. Favourite number?
3, no idea why.

10. Two hobbies?
I would have to say blogging. This is something I really really enjoy doing as well as shopping.

11. Two pet peeves?
People who eat with their mouth open and make that annoying chomping sound. Also, people who sit there and bite their nails in front of me. I don't like it.

12. Guilty pleasures?
I kind of really like Justin Bieber's new album :\

Coping with Anxiety | Relief in a Bottle

♥ Bach Rescue Remedy ♥
I have suffered with bad anxiety for as long as I can remember and although this is not a beauty related post, I wanted to share this fantastic  product with you all (Bach Rescue Remedy Spray). Developed over 100 years ago, Bach flower therapy is a natural treatment used specifically for healing emotions of stress, fear and anxiety.

In December, I was offered a great opportunity to work for a big well known organisation which I was extremely excited about. Mixed with excitement was this overwhelming feeling of anxiety which I could not control. I know everybody feels a bit apprehensive about starting a new job, however, my anxiety over this new job was beginning to become unbearable.

(Some of the natural flower ingredients:  Impantiens, Star of Bethlehem and Rock Rose)

Nearer the time of starting my new job, my good friend Kate (kate-mariexo.blogspot.co.uk) recommended the Bach Rescue Remedy Spray. I was extremely sceptical at first as I could not imagine that some ingredients in a bottle could help me with the extreme anxiety I was feeling. However, I decided that there was no harm in trying it out to see if it actually works. On the same day, I decided to pop into boots and pick one up.

On the same evening, I was sat watching tele and I could feel my heart starting to beat really fast and I started to feel very fidgety as though I couldn't relax. I decided to spray some of the Bach Rescue Remedy onto my tongue as instructed and within 10 seconds I felt my heart rate slow down and I started to feel more calm.

This is definitely a product that I would recommend. I find that it offers an instant relief in moments where I feel anxiety, worry and panic. I carry it around with me absolutely everywhere as I never know when I am going to need it.
♥ Big thumbs up from me ♥

Mini Elf Haul | Eyes Lips & Face

♥ Mini ELF Cosmetics Haul ♥
Hi everyone! The other week I purchased some ELF products from http://eyeslipsface.co.uk. I have to admit, I have never really been a huge fan of ELF. I had purchased from here a couple of years ago and although it was extremely cheap, the quality was not great at all (I guess you get what you pay for!). After browsing the website last week, I noticed the choice of makeup seemed to have improved, the prices have also slightly increased which suggests to me that the quality has also improved. After careful consideration, I thought I would take my chances and purchase a few items.

Lipsticks (in order) : Posh, Fearless, Sociable, Party Pink (Mineral) and Rich Raspberry (Mineral)
I was pleasantly surprised with these lipsticks, especially the two mineral lipsticks. They all glide onto the lips so smoothly and they also smell quite nice as well. There is no shimmer to them, they are all completely matte. The only downside to the non-mineral lipsticks is the fact that they wipe off quite easily so you will find yourself reapplying all throughout the day.  I do think these lipsticks are great if you want to experiment with colours that you have not used before.

If you have never tried a red lip before, or perhaps you are unsure if a coral pink would suit you, I would definitely advise you to check out the ELF lipsticks as it's better to pay £1.95 rather than £15.00 for a particular colour you're unsure of. I absolutely love the mineral lipsticks, they are just as good as the drugstore lip products, I would definitely purchase some more.

Nail Polish Set (Beach Party)
I can only say good things about this nail polish set. All three of the colours are absolutely gorgeous. They also dry really quickly and glide onto the nails with so much ease.

My favourite is Flirty Fuscia purely because I love having bright pink nails. It's such a bright and pretty colour which really stands out. Below is 'Coral Dream' which is also a gorgeous colour. It's very summery and it is a colour which will go with absolutely anything you wear as it's quite neutral with a nice hint of a peachy colour.

I tend not to wear red nail varnish very often, only because it is extremely bold. However, I will definitely be using this nail varnish for nights out when I am either wearing a red dress or a nice black dress with a red lip. They are all lovely colours and similar to the mineral lipsticks, I will definitely be purchasing some more.

I also purchased the Beauty Book and the False Eyelashes. I will be testing both of these products out over the next couple of days and I will shortly be writing a review on them. So far so good with the ELF cosmetics, I am impressed.
